fishing as hot this past weekend. Walleyes

set 200 feet back with 3 ounces of lead.

The most productive colors were My Se-

cret, Flashy Muff and Goby. The small-

tional photos in Livewell)

Thomas Watral (Erie); filed 7-22: “Some nice perch and walleye are being taken on min-
nows and Erie Dearies tipped with crawlers in 50 feet of water off the Lighthouse. Large
perch are being caught near the old Hammer Mill plant. Silver bass are everywhere!”

Richard Hellmann @ Someday Isle Tackle; filed 7-24: “We fished 52

to 56 feet of water on the PA/OH line today. We marked a good num-

ber of walleye and multiple schools of perch while jig-drifting for

‘eye. We boated 4 walleyes – three on a 5/16-ounce Water Puppet

baited with a nightcrawler and one walleye on Water Puppet jig with

plastic tail. We fished from 7:30 am to 11:30 am with west wind 6

mph and waves one foot or less.” (See photos) Hellmann photo

Paul Stewart (Butler); filed 7-24: “I finally got out on Lake Erie on one
of the perch head boats on Thursday evening. I was a slow night due
to the full moon…but most of the perch caught were slabs. We also
got a number of big silver bass.” (See photo)

Tim Truitt @ North East Marina; filed 7-22: “As of July 22, the Perch bite is finally com-
ing on; nice catches off McCord’s Point to Greenfield with 10 to 14 inchers the norm.
Walleyes – The inside bite still hot from Marina to State Line and from Shorewood to
McCord’s Point in 51 fow. The worm bite seems to be the best bet; give them ham-
mered copper blades. Bottom chugging is working great. Offshore bite – consistent at 85
to 105 fow; with boards and dipsy’s targeting 55/60 feet down in the water column. Al-
most everything is working. Lots of bait offshore – hope it will hold fish. Steelheads are
still being caught with offshore walleyes with fish in the thermocline.”
