Bill Logan (Pleasantville); filed 5/27: “On May 26th, in four hours of fishing on PIB, I
caught 7 bass on spinnerbaits and swim baits. All but one were 2 pounds and up.”

Lake Erie & Tributaries
Jeff @ Poor Richards; filed 6-13: “When you can get out on the lake – which has not
been often recently due to north winds – anglers are catching perch in 37 to 42 feet of
water off Trout Run. And they are getting walleye west of Virginia Beach towards Ohio
line in 20 to 30 feet and some out to 45 feet. Crawler harnesses and plugs are both pro-
ducing. Here’s a Father’s Day sale special here at the shop: Line Counter Reel & Rod Com-
bos are on sale – buy one for your Dad and take him walleye fishing on Erie.”

Dan @ Elk Creek Sports; filed 6-13: “Wind has been blasting us for 9 out of the last 10
days; not many getting out. Heard a couple charter boats went out of Conneaut Harbor
to fish in 7-footers on Sunday – that’s not fun. Catfish are in Elk Creek now and smallies
are on the way out.”

Keith @ Dutch Fork Custom Lures; filed 6-4: “Keith Eshbaugh and Ed Rowgowski fished
Lake Erie out of Erie on May 30. We fished Dutch Fork Ghost Blade harnesses in 40 feet
of water, landing 7 walleyes; we lost 8 fish along with a lot of short bite offs. Guys run-
ning cranks were getting fewer walleye. Speed is critical running harnesses this time of
year. Various colors worked with Krappie pattern being the best. We used 1 oz. inline
weights at 40 to 50 feet back on Offshore Planer Boards.”

Tabetha & Scott Krantz; filed 5-31: “On a Memorial Day trip to Lake Erie, we caught sev-
eral nice walleyes while trolling worm harnesses in 55 feet of wa-
ter. Most were caught at 1.5 mph and close to the bottom.” (See
                           photo on left)

NEW RECORD PERCH – The NW PA Fishing Report announced a
potential new state record perch from PIB
earlier this year. According to PFBC re-
lease, it is now official. Brian Clark of Edin-
boro was fishing in 20 feet of water on
March 30 when he hooked the record fish.
The catch measured 15-15/16 inches and weighed 2 pounds, 14
ounces.
