Angler Al (Franklin); filed 6-1: “On June 1, Stan and I were slow trolling willow blade
(chartreuse and green) worm harnesses in 15 to 18 feet of water. We caught walleye and
catfish – but not a consistent bite.”

Canadohta Lake
Jerry @ Timberland Bait; filed 6-13: “Over at Sparty Pond they are catching some nice
northern pike and a few crappies. Here at Canadohta, the walleye bite is on. The hot baits
are trolled Hot-n-Tots. Anglers bought out my entire stock this past week, and I just got a
new order in and on the shelves. My tip for Father’s Day is to buy your dad a Hot-n-Tot
here at the shop and take him fishing on Canadohta.”

ERIE COUNTY

Edinboro Lake
Jerry @ Timberland Bait; filed 6-13: “The exciting news over at Edinboro Lake is the very
nice bluegills and crappies anglers are catching this week.”

Presque Isle Bay
Mike @ Lake Erie Bait and Tackle; filed 6-13: “When the wind isn’t blowing 20 mph, our
customers are catching good numbers of smallmouth and largemouth bass, especially in
Misery Bay and Thompson Bay. They are getting crappies in Marina Lake. And bluegills on
the beds everywhere around PIB. But you’ve got to put up with white fuzz from cotton-
wood trees that get on your line. Out it in the main lake, anglers are catching walleyes in
the morning and at sunset in 35 to 40 feet, and perch at 35 to 40 and 50 to 55 feet. Catch-
es are much better action this year than last year at this time.”

Thomas Watral (Erie); filed 6-13: “Perch are hitting in the lake at 36 to 38 feet of water off
the Cribs and the Lighthouse. Bites are light. Best baits are pink minnows on a crappie rig.
The rigs are handmade at East Side Bait and Tackle on McKinley Aver, Erie. At the south
pier, anglers are catching bass on soft plastic and buzz baits. Some walleyes are being tak-
en on crawler harnesses; best colors are orange/red and yellow. I am having a Summer Fa-
ther’s Day Sale at Bait & Tackle Shop at 2407 McKinley Ave. through July 4th.”

Pete @ SmalliesontheYough.com; filed 6/9: “Our day on PIB started out nice with temps in
the mid-80s. We wade-fished the Bay; the water was calm. We saw a few fish in the shal-
lows and used stick baits and 412ubes from 412 Bait Company to land a bunch of nice fish.
We fished until mid-day then a storm moved in and we took off. We caught 27 total fish,
including largemouth bass, smallmouth bass and sheephead.”
