Conneaut Lake
Darl Black @ Fishing with Darl Black; filed 5/22: Bryan Stuyvesant reports a lot of shallow bass
action at Conneaut Lake. The writers he hosted on the lake during PA Crappie Camp also caught
crappies from around docks, as well as nice Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass. Dale Black@
Gamma Fishing had George Toalson @ Bobby Garland Crappie Baits also fished for bass at
Conneaut, too. The Gene Larew Hard Head and Biffle Bug combo proved deadly for respectable
Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass.
Dale Clemmer (Cochranton); filed 5/12: Dale provided
photos of bass from Conneaut but no information. See
photos.
Woodcock Lake
Dale Clemmer
Josh @ Myers Sportsman’s Connection; filed 5/22:
French Creek is blown out and Woodcock Lake is as high as I have ever
seen – unfishable right now. However, all that water has stacked up wall-
eyes in the spillway below the dam. Good catches of legal ‘eye plus a few
big muskies reported.
Jeramie Joy (Guys Mills); filed 5/19: Haven’t been out much, but Wood-
cock has been producing some decent walleye. I got two last night (the
th
18 ) in the lake jigging leeches. Earlier in week I got a couple walleyes at
Jeramie Joy the Spillway. With recent rains, the level of lake shot up. Hopefully back to
normal pool in a few days. (See photos
Canadohta Lake
Jerry @ Timberland Bait; filed 5/22: Bite is slow at Canadohta right now. Guys are catching a
few walleyes and muskies. Over weekend had reports of three muskies with the largest 42 inch-
es.
ERIE COUNTY
Courtney @ Lake Erie Bait & Tackle; filed 5/22: Smallmouth Bass
fishing is fantastic right now in both the Bay and on the Lake.
Crappies are being caught in the Bay; see photo of recent catch
from shore. Perch fishing in Lake is spotty. (See photos)
