- 2-19: Great way to start year. Partner and I each scored a
limit of walleyes taken with 10 pound Gamma Torque with
10 pound Gamma Edge Leader.
- 2-20: Only 6 hours on river today. A little slower than yester-
day. Same set up. (See photos in Livewell)

- 2-12: Fished the river yesterday. Caught 6 walleyes – all on
blades.
- 2-22: Ventured further south on river yesterday. Got 26 walleyes but only 2 keep-
ers – one was a sauger. Today, we ran down to Parker to fish mouth of Clarion.
Caught many fish including a big northern pike. (See photo in Livewell)

Starting with in March, professional bass angler Dave Lefebre of Erie PA will provide a
seasonal tip each month exclusively for the readers of the NW PA Fishing Report. Dave is
a 16 year veteran of the national bass tournament trails. At the present time he is in Tex-
as at Lake Conroe preparing for next week’s Bassmaster Classic. You can watch his new

March is Rapala Rippin’ Rap time for largemouth
bass in NW PA. Sometimes it’s early March, some-
times mid-March or sometimes late March into early
April – depending on when water warms to a certain
temperature. Once the water warms into the upper
40s, I generally retire my favorite countdown jerk-
baits and pick up the pace a little in order to cover more water in search of big pre-
spawn largemouth schools in grassy bays and flats. The Rippin’ Rap is great for covering
ground, and it also happens to be the best thing for catching bass once they have been
located…perfect! I like minnow colors up north this time of year – chromes and shad
