Although reports are sporadic, let it be clear that trout, perch and walleye are biting –
read the reports in this issue to find out where. And be sure to read my article in this is-
sue of the Fishing Report on how & where to fish for walleyes from shore in the four
weeks before the inland waters walleye season closes on March 14. And in coming issues,
you will receive information from local guides as well as Bassmaster Elite Angler Dave
Lefebre on upcoming hot bites in NW PA.

We answer the question: What’s biting in the lakes, streams, and rivers of
Crawford, Erie, Mercer and Venango counties?

CRAWFORD COUNTY

Pymatuning Lake
Dave @ Richter’s Bait & Tackle; filed 2/13: With the ice gone and Jame-
stown Ramp open, at least one boat was out on the lake both Saturday
and Sunday. They reportedly caught a few walleyes by jigging blades.
There are a few walleyes being taken in the outflow area of the dam in
the Shenango River – it’s the time of year for more fish to show up down
there. The panfish bite off the Jamestown Marina docks has been hot
and cold. Some anglers have taken very nice crappies in recent weeks,
but this past weekend the bite was not good.

Sam @ Robinson’s Bait, filed 2/13: Wilson launch and Espyville Launch
are open, but no reports of fish. Won’t be long!

Gateway Tackle, filed 2/13: No reports of anyone having fishing success Dock crew
from causeway. The Linesville Spillway fishing has been up and down. I
had someone stop by who was going wading in the evening over the
weekend, but did not hear back from him as to whether he caught wall-
eye or not.
