Steve Udick (Oil City); filed 11-19: I was on the river with Jim Allen on

the 17th and 18th. On Thursday, we landed 11 bass in a couple hours. No Gene’s Lures

real size but lots of action. Most bass cam on black RightBite tubes

fished just inside the current line. On Friday, we fished the eddy above Veterans Bridge.

What a day! Fishing in t-shirts in November! The OCFD put the pon-

toons across the river for the winter season and it creates some current

breaks. We landed four bass and a walleye in current breaks. Pontoon

chain is not problem for jet boats getting through on either side, but

not sure prop motors can get through.

Dale Black @ Gamma Fishing; filed 11-19: I fished the river on the 12th, 13th and 19th this

past week. On the 12th, the bite was amazing; between two of us we landed 30-some
smallies – several in the 3 to 4 pound range. On the 13th, Marilyn and Darl Black joined

me. The bite had changed dramatically in a day, and we had to fish

hard to get bites. Marilyn outfished Darl and I put together – she land-

ed eight bass while Darl and I had seven between us. Marilyn was using

6 pound Gamma Edge and intentionally hung on debris; often when

she jerked it loose, a bass would hit. She ended the day with the same

tube she started with – didn’t break the Gamma all day! On Saturday
the 19th, I tried to sneak out before the storm. Ended up getting wet

and cold, but caught 15 smallmouths. Marilyn Black

Lou Letterle (Franklin); filed 11-18: My friend Ken Dudash and I have been fishing the Al-
legheny for walleyes. We are catching some walleyes here and there, but have yet to
catch more than one or two from any location. We are fishing protected water out of the
main current, especially when the river is running high like it was in early November. No
real size to walleye – hopefully will see some bigger ones over the next couple weeks be-
fore we wrap it up for the year. I included a photo of typical walleyes being caught. (See

Pete Cartwright @ SmalliesontheYough.com; filed 11-17: We fished the Allegheny on
the 13th. Started out slow but the as day progressed we found some bass. We used tubes
to catch 5 smallies and a decent walleye. The water was stained with lots of floating
leaves. (See photo in Livewell)
