MERCER COUNTY

        Lake Wilhelm
Bo @ BC Bait Co.; filed 11-5: I fished the docks at Lake Wilhelm Marina
over the weekend. I caught over 200 fish

on Saturday despite frigid conditions. Most were crappies and
perch. Used a red BC Pickworm on a 1/100 gold jighead, sus-
pended about 1 foot of the bottom. Saw a couple other anglers
jigging with minnows and caching crappies. On Sunday, I fished
the dock at Lake Latonka with the Pickworm and caught a doz-
en beautiful perch. One of the guys from Western PA Hardwa-

ter Series got a nice bass on a Pickworm. We finished the day on the docks at Jamestown Mari-
na at Pymatuning, where we caught a few small bluegills and one smallmouth bass – not as
much activity as I had hoped for. (See photos)

        Shenango Lake
Randy @ Fish West PA; filed 11-5: Shenango is still giving up some good
fish but the lake level is rising and fish are starting to move to wintering
holes – although some are still feeding in the shallows. (See photo)

Ken Smith (Sharon); filed 11-2: Shenango Lake is giving up slab crappies
the last couple weeks. Spend four days on the water last week and had
fantastic results. Big whites and thick black crappies have the feed bag
on. I'm getting crappies shallow and deep; as shallow as five feet and as
deep as 18 feet. Bobby Garland plastics are putting all of them in the Randy with smallmouth
        boat. (See photo)

Rick Como (Sharpsville); filed 10-30: During the last days of October, I
think the entire white bass population turned on. I
easily caught over 50 a day on blades in deep-
water near channel, plus some monster crappies,
striper or two and even a walleye. Here I had
thought the white bass population had been in
downturn because I caught so few during summer

in usual places and time. Proved myself wrong this
                                  fall! (See photo)
