All the talk this past week among NW PA anglers has been the low
water conditions – in the Allegheny River, in the Erie steelhead
streams, and at Pymatuning Lake. We need rain! We also need
more seasonable water temperatures. Unusually warm temps are
preventing fall bites from kicking in. While “fishing” has been
pleasant due to mild weather, “catching” has been difficult. Howev-
er, I did have a success day with Dave Lefebre on PIB this past
week during a photo shoot, catching my largest smallmouth of the
year so far. But I’ll be looking for bigger ones before the snow flies!
