I guess it was to be expected. Winter was late in departing. Spring temps and rain extend-
ed well past the first day of summer. And now summer doesn’t want to give way for fall.
It’s almost October, however…the Allegheny is at a near record low for this time of year…
Erie tributaries are too low and too warm for steelhead
to start moving…Pymatuning Lake is almost 3 foot be-
low normal and dropping each day. We need rain and
some cooler temps to kick fall fishing into gear on all
waterways. A little rain today and Tuesday is appreciat-
ed, but more is needed. However, the 7-day forecast
indicates cooler temps on the way. I’m ready to fish.
