Well, it’s almost August and summer weather has finally arrived
in NW PA! The 10 day forecast has no significant prolonged rain
moving into the area. The Allegheny River and French Creek wa-
ter levels are dropping nearer summer levels. Area lake levels are
falling as well. Now we just need to the water color to clear up a
bit. The river remains surprisingly dirty and some lakes – espe-
cially Pymatuning – are pea green from algae blooms. Bright
spots? The walleye bite has remained strong through July at
Pymatuning and Wilhelm. Smallmouth are coming around on the
river. And full Blue Moon this Friday! Go fish!
