This Sunday, June 19th, we celebrate Father’s Day. My Dad was a life-
long angler, and he got me started fishing at an early age. Dad kept a
boat docked at Pymatuning’s West Bay Motorboat Club during the
mid-50s to early 60s. Starting around age 6 or 7, I recall traveling with
him to Pymatuning every weekend to fish from May through August.
Later in life, Dad didn’t get out on his own as much as he would like. I
would take him bass fishing some times to different lakes, but what
he really liked was our annual Father’s Day trip to Pymatuning for
bluegill. Bluegills should still be on the beds this coming weekend.
